Is there any place in Houston, that you can ride a horse for free/ cheap cost or maybe even be a volunteer horse hand for the day

I am one of 4 men who travel to a differnt football stadium every year and this year we are coming to Houston Reliant Stasium for the game on Nove 7. We will arrive Nove 5 and depart Nov 8. We are looking for a hotel in a good area and close to the stadium we will have use of a car though. We like to go to sports bars so a area with some sport bars if possible. One hotel chain recommended to me was Drury Inn & Suites. Thank you for you advice

My friend and I are looking for a place to stay that is not too far from downtown (convention ctr), or possibly on the Metro rail. Ideally we would like to find something that is close to one of the host hotels for the International Quilt Festival. We would like a nice place to stay, but reasonably priced. Several years back I stayed 2 blocks from a host hotel, then I could use the quilt show shuttle to and from the conv ctr, but this place was also walking distance to a grocery which was very nice. For the life of me I cannot recall where it was. Could have been close to Doubletree Hotel Houston possibly? Are you able to recommend somewhere or offer any advice?

On our way to Vancouver we are making a short stop in Houston on September 11. We have about 7 hours between the flights (so I think about 5 full hours) to visit the city or Space Center. What would you suggest? And if you would suggest the city then what would we need to see?

I am coming to Texas in March 2011. I will stop in Houston only for 24 hours before heading to Austin. Can you please suggest a nice area where to stay? I would like to stay somewhere with shops and bars at walking distance from the hotel (i.e. the equivalent of Downtown in NYC?). Also, do you think I will need the car only for 24 hours? Thank you!
