The friendly and diverse people who live here.

When your family and friends are in town where do you suggest they go? Shop? Eat?

When my family and friends are in town I take them to restaurants that are unique to Houston.  Usually great Mexican food and or gulf coast seafood but sometimes they insist on a big ole Texas steak.

Shopping is amazing at the Galleria (one of the largest indoor shopping malls in America), Rice Village and the outlet malls!

What’s an event that you never miss in Houston?

One of the events that I never miss is the Rodeo which is one of the largest in the world and includes a great concert with major celebrity performances.  But it’s also fun to go to Astros, Texans and Rockets games.

Biography

I have 40 years in the convention and visitor bureau business.  During which I served as President and CEO of the Baltimore, Maryland CVB for 17 years and the Kansas City, Missouri CVB for 7 years.  Returned to the Houston CVB in 2002.

Education

Attended the University of Missouri and specialized in Business and Public Administration.
