Discovery Green

Discovery Green, a 12-acre park located in downtown Houston, officially opened to the public on April 13, 2008. The long-awaited destination fulfills a commitment from Mayor Bill White and major private Houston foundations to create and preserve green space within Houston’s central city. With its proximity to the George R. Brown Convention Center, Minute Maid Park, and Toyota Center, Discovery Green is an ideal location for the city’s newest attraction.

Memorial Park

Dubbed “the largest urban park in Texas,” Houston's Memorial Park, just inside Loop 610 at Woodway, includes Texas’ top-rated municipal 18-hole golf course, as well as facilities for tennis, softball, swimming, track, croquet, volleyball, in-line skating, cycling and a popular three-mile running course.

Metropolitan Multi-Service Center

Houston Parks and Recreation Department provides access to year round activities for children and adults with disabilities through the Adaptive Recreation Division. The Adaptive Recreation Division is housed at the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center.

The Vale-Asche Foundation Playground

The Vale-Asche Foundation Playground at Memorial Park is the first playground completed for children with disabilities.
