Hola Veronica! I want to buy some tickets for the game Texans vs Dolphins on Sep 9th, I enter this site but I am lost.. http://www.houstontexans.com/tickets/index.html I dont know how to buy them, I need 2 seats on regular location. Also I want to find a fancy restaurant to propose to my girl =) Thanks for your advice !
Marco,
You can only buy individual tickets to a Texans game through Ticketmaster.
A few suggestions for you for your proposal: Mark's, Brenner's on the Bayou or Tony's. All are very upscale and romantic. Congratulations!

Are there any sorts of minibus or shuttle operating between the George Bush airport and the medical centre/Rice University area? Do I otherwise have to take a taxi or use the metro bus? There is something about shuttles on one of the web-sites, but I can't get the links to work.
Hi David,
You can arrange a Super Shuttle to pick you up at the airport and drop you off at your desired location.
There is also Metro Bus that departs from Terminal C. I'd use Metro's Trip Planner so you can plug in your date and time information. Otherwise, you can take a Taxi. It is about 25 miles from the airport to the Medical Center/Rice University or around $60 for the fare.
Hope this helps,
Veronica
Hi, my husband and I are thinking to relocate to the Houston area. Can you recommend which areas are good in terms of schools, my son is 8yrs. A good neighborehood, and easily commutible to downtown for working purposes. I'm not very familiar with the area, only visitied once or twice for vacation.
Hi Teresa,
You know so many people are relocating here and we love that. Houston really is one of the best places in the country to live!
It's really difficult for me to make a specific recommendation to you though as far as areas with good schools that meet your commute criteria and are within your budget. Home prices are relatively low in Houston but they are picking up a bit. My best suggestion to you is to read the Relocation Guide from the Greater Houston Partnership, which is chock-full of useful information for those moving to the city. I would also suggest you spend a lot of time on the Houston Area Realtors site. There you can get a feel for neighborhoods and select a real estate agent to work with.
I hope this helps!

I want to plan a 3 to 4 day vacation including an Astros game on 6-20-12. We will want to spend the day at a beach and stay in a hotel. Any suggestions on a package deal or coupons?
Terry,
We have a great special offers section on our website with a minimum 15 percent discount on restaurants, attractions and more. The hotel packages on our website are also a great option. Unfortunately, none of the packages include tickets to an Astros game, but you can purchase those individually.
Also, make sure to check our our sample itineraries for ideas of things to do.
If you have additional questions, let me know!

We just relocated from MI and I want to take my friend out for a girls night out including hotel. We would like to stay in Houston proper but are not sure what to do. We would love to sit at a cozy bar, listen to live music and reconnect. Any suggestion? Thanks!
Amy,
You're in luck! We've created a girls weekend itinerary that will have lots of ideas for you! Of the cozy bars mentioned here, I love Boheme, 13 Celsius and La Carafe.
Take a look at the itinerary, and let me know if you have additional questions.

Hi Veronica, I am looking for a inexpensive place in Houston for a wedding shower location. I am on a tight budget and a house or apartment is not an option at this point. I heard that the visitors bureau use to be rented out...Do y'all rent out the visitors bureau or can you recommend a place in the city that would be reasonable for a large party for maybe a brunch? Any suggestions would help at this point, I really appreciate it!
Vanessa,
Unfortunately, the Houston Visitors Center isn't available for rent anymore. I'd look into an inexpensive restaurant that doesn't charge a rental fee. A few suggestions (although you'll want to confirm with the restaurant directly): Canopy, the breakfast klub, The Chocolate Bar.
We also have a venue search functionality on our website where you can choose how much space you need, whether you need a private room, what kind of venue you're looking for, etc. You'll need to contact the locations directly for pricing, but it's a good start for you! Check it out.
Let me know if you have additional questions!

We will be in Houston 6/3 and 6/4. Please recommend a moderate price hotel/motel near the museum district or in the heights with a pool and possibly free parking. Thank you.
Stuart,
There are a few hotels in the Texas Medical Center/Reliant Park area (very close to the Museum District) that fit your criteria--an outdoor pool and free parking.
If you feel like splurging, Hotel Zaza is located inside the Museum District and has a fantastic pool. There is a parking charge, and it can be a bit pricey, but I wanted to make sure you knew about it!
If you have additional questions, let me know!

What free events are going on this weekend?
Hi Nicole,
A few things pop to mind: Dancin' in the Street at Miller Outdoor Theatre, the Richard Serra exhibition at The Menil Collection, the SNAP exhibition at Art League Houston and the Danny Lyon exhibit at the Menil. These are just the free things that are available but many other events are happening this weekend that have a nominal fee. Check out the rest of the weekend calendar here.
Also, here is a list of things that are always free in the city!
Veronica
