Hi Veronica, I Will be in Houston this coming week and I wonder if there is a Star Wars Shope where I can find something special for a gift to my nephew.. thanks ! =)
I would try Third Planet, a comic shop on Southwest Freeway. I hear they have a good deal of Star Wars merchandise. There's also The Pop Culture Company on Katy Freeway.
Hope this helps!
Coming in to Houston TX. A surprize visit from Hobby Airport hoping to go to 200 block of Lena Drive and 17700 block of Autumn Hills Drive I'm trying to make this a one day trip but I need to know distance, time, cost, of all my options bus, taxi, metro, walking and renting a car for transportation, along with dirctions. Can you help me?
Going to the two locations you mentioned, your best bet is to fly into George Bush Intercontinental Airport. However cabs to these multiple locations and back would likely cost you close to $200 altogether. I would say the most efficient and cheapest method of getting to where you're going would be to rent a car. We have information on the various rental car companies on our airport page. As for directions, I would simply suggest you plot your trip using Google Maps, which offers step-by-step driving instructions from the airport to your destination.
I hope this helps.

The first bus of the day departs downtown from Congress and La Branch at 7:35am and arrives at Space Center at 8:50am.
In regards to what not to miss, I'd take a look at our Insider's Guide and some of our itineraries. We have a lot of great ideas there. I'd also check out some recent articles written about Houston. You'll find interesting perspectives about approaching the city as a visitor.
Yes, you can get detailed maps at the Visitors Center. If you want them in advance, please email email@example.com and request maps.
Wich park have activities or what things to do there are in Houston this long weekend, from 31 August tru 3 of September.
Here's our calendar of events for the weekend. Hope this helps!
i have a online friend coming in from florida and for lunch/afternoon get together. never met her before. what do you suggest to do for the 4/5 hours. thanks
Wow there are so many different options based on interests, price point etc.
I'll just make a couple suggestions, but if you want something more specific give me a few more details. Houston is really known for its international foods, so why not have lunch at one of these great international restaurants on Montrose Blvd. Then you can head down Montrose to the Museum District and see some of the many exhibits at the Museum of Fine Arts, Natural Science Museum and others.
That is a pretty good "getting to know you" experience.
I am with the American Legion and we will be in Houston Aug. 23-29 in 2013. We need a place to have our Indiana party. WE would like to have a nice BBq. or Seafood restaurant that can seat between 250-300 people. Can you help?
I would contact our Convention Services department to help you. This is exactly the sort of thing that Convention Services does for the community, helping you find the right venue for your large group needs. You can contact Judi Quesonova at firstname.lastname@example.org. I hope this helps!
Hello Veronica, thanks again for the information. i will be in Houston on 23rd of September and let's say that on 24th in the morning around 9am i can take the bus to go to the Space center and around 12am from the Space center to go to the Kemah boardwalk. i think that the easiest way to go to the boardwalk is first to be at the space center,....also to safe time...i would like to visit both on the same trip. about the san jacinto battle ship, i would like to visit it on 26th of september in the morning, ...leaving downtown around 8am...it should be fine.... please let me know. thanks a lot. to come back to the international airport on 28th early morning...at 5.30 am from downtown....could i take a bus or for sure i need the shuttle service?..... i'm also looking for the nike town sport store, can you tell me if there is in the city....not too far away from down/mid town? thanks a lot! best regards francesco
Here you go:
Bus 249 departs from downtown Houston (Milam and McKinney Streets) at 9:43am. It will arrive at Space Center Houston at 10:51am. Unfortunately, the Metro bus system does not go to the Kemah Boardwalk, so you'll need to call a cab from Space Center. Call 713-236-1111 to call the cab--it will be about $20 to get from Space Center to Kemah. Make sure you're back at Space Center before 3pm--the last bus to downtown leaves at 3pm.
Unfortunately, the Metro bus doesn't go to the San Jacinto Monument either. A cab from downtown will be about $60 each way.
To get to the airport on the 28th, take bus 102 that departs downtown from Travis and Franklin Streets at 5:31am. You'll arrive at IAH at 6:33am.
Unfortunately, we don't have a Niketown in Houston. We have quite a few sports stores, but not a Niketown.
I hope this helps!
Dear Veronica, I will be visiting Houston for a business trip of 10 days end of September and I would like to know if there are good skateparks in Houston? Thanks in advance for your kind answer! Best regards, Vincent
Actually, we do! The Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark is one of the best in the country with one of the largest bowls. Plus, there are great skyline views from the park.
There are a few other parks around the region that offer skateparks as well, like the Gene Green Beltway 8 Park and Congressman Bill Archer Park.
Let me know if you have additional questions!
by: Vincent from geneva
That sounds great!!!
Thx a lot for your quick answer Veronica!
Hi Veronica, thanks for all the informations that you gave me... i will be in Houston from 23rd to 28th september and i would like to visit the following place just in the morning, maybe on 24th or 25th.: 1.Nasa space center + kemah boardwalk 2.san jacinto battle ship and museum i know that the metro rail is not going there... i had a look on the web site about the bus public transport but it's no easy to get the route to these places... can you give me just some details about the bus to go there....if there is a bus that stops at the nasa space center and at kemah boardwalk or maybe not...and the same thing for the San jacinto battle ship......something like this? thanks a lot i hope that you can help me on that... do you know where the Astros's official sport store is located? i will enjoy a match on 25th sept, and i would like to buy some tshirt and cap...i love sport..american sports! best regards francesco
I'm happy to give you details on the bus system, but I need to know on which day and at what time you want to visit the attractions. The bus schedules change from day to day. For example, you can't take a bus to Space Center on the weekends--they only run Monday through Friday. Send me that information, and I can put a schedule together for you.
The official store for the Astros is located inside Minute Maid Park. You can also purchase sports shirts, hats, etc. at the Houston Visitors Center.
Let me know if you need anything else!
Hi, i'm again Francesco from Munich, i would like to know how to reach the following places from downtown houston, using the public transport, metro rail / bus.....etc etc..: 1.from / to the international airport 2.nasa space center 3.san jacinto battle ship and museum 4.kemah boardwalk please let me know. do you have in mind some places, club, bar, breakfast cafe (to get the best pancake) and so on....that i cannot miss when i will visit houston? many thanks for the patience! please let me know, best regards francesco
The light rail doesn't run to any of the places you want to visit, so you'll need to rely on the bus system. The easiest way to do this--since I don't know the dates or times you want to visit the attractions--is to enter your information into the Metro Trip Planner, and it will give you all the details on where and what time to catch the bus. Let me know if you have any questions!
In regards to restaurants and bars, we've put together a list of 15 iconic Houston meals (the pancake at Buffalo Grille is on the list--it's the best!). That's a great place for you to start. Also, we compile a list of all of our award-winning restaurants, and there are many, many great options here.
For bars, I'd check out Anvil Bar & Refuge, Mongoose vs. Cobra and Hay Merchant. All great spots.
Let me know if you need additional info!
