Both seasoned and new collectors of prints won’t want to miss Prints and Plates, a selection of matrices from prominent Texas print publishing press, Flatbed Press. Presented by Arts Brookfield, the cultural arm of global real estate corporation Brookfield, this electrifying exhibition of prints and the plates from which they were made will be displayed at 1600 Smith Street Gallery from Sept. 21, 2016 – Jan. 12, 2017.
Participating artists include Terry Allen, Dan Allison, Josh Bernstein, John Robert Craft, Charles Criner, Trenton Doyle Hancock, Luis Jimenez, Jules Buck Jones, Sharon Kopriva, R.W. Kubach, Mary McCleary, Dan Rizzie, Armando Rodriguez, Camila Ruiz, Elizabeth Montgomery Shelton, Julie Speed, James Surls, Frank X Tolbert 2, Liz Ward and David J. Webb. The exhibition, which is curated by Sally Reynolds in cooperation with the artists, Flatbed Press, The Printing Museum – Houston and Devin Borden Gallery, is free and open to the public Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Flatbed Press Owner and Director, Katherine Brimberry, will provide insight into the printing operation during a brown bag lunch session on Oct. 6 at 12 p.m.
