Since 1986, Buffalo Bayou Partnership has been pursuing impactful plans for the 10-mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou from Shepherd Drive to the Port of Houston Turning Basin. From spearheading capital projects such as Buffalo Bayou Park to removing thousands of cubic yards of trash each year, BBP has truly transformed Houston’s historic waterway. This year, BBP completed development of Buffalo Bend Nature Park in the East End; finished construction of one of the bayou’s most unique trails under a network of downtown streets; opened the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern; and moved its administrative offices to the historic Sunset Coffee Building. Through significant projects like these and thoughtful programming, Buffalo Bayou Partnership is reclaiming our city’s unique waterfront and greatly enhancing the quality of life for all Houstonians.
Join in the fun with a birthday party for Buffalo Bayou Park (turning 1) and BBP (turning 30) on Thursday, October 6 from 4 to 8 pm at The Water Works. Enjoy tasty food truck fare, birthday cake, beer and lawn games. Bring the kiddos to play in the Barbara Fish Daniel Nature Play Area.
