Discovery Green presents the Fiddle Festival Friday and Saturday, October 7 and 8.

The Fiddle Festival brings today's most exciting and innovative string artists to Houston for a series of concerts, workshops and jams.


This two-day event will bring artists from near and far including headliners Daniel Bernard Roumain, (pictured) Emmy award nominee, known for his signature violin sounds infused with electronic and urban music influences and the Villalobos Brothers, Julliard-trained, leading contemporary Mexican ensembles, playing violin, guitar, drums and bass.

Other performers include Two Star Symphony, Fiddle Witch, Divisi Strings and the Lost and Nameless Orchestra.

Concerts -

Friday, October 7, 7-10 pm

7 pm: Fiddle Witch
Eclectic quartet playing everything from western swing to gypsy jazz

7:30 pm: Lost and Nameless Orchestra
Austin-based quartet specializing in contemporary, folk-rock

8 pm: Villalobos Brothers
Villalobos Brothers have been acclaimed as one of today's leading Contemporary Mexican ensembles. Their original compositions and arrangements masterfully blend and celebrate the richness of Mexican folk music with the intricate harmonies of jazz and classical music.

8:30 pm: Daniel Bernard Roumain
Daniel Bernard Roumain is a classically trained composer, performer, violinist, and band-leader noted for blending funk, rock, hip-hop and classical music into an energetic and experiential sonic form.

9:30 pm: Fiddle Jam session!

7 pm: Divisi Strings
Divisi Strings is dedicated to innovation, with an unmatched selection of classical music mixed with today's hottest hits.

7:30 pm: Two Star Symphony
Two Star Symphony is a Houston based instrumental music ensemble composing and performing all original music. Two Star's dark distinctive sound is a result of a unique writing style.

8 pm: Daniel Bernard Roumain
