Houston, known as the Energy Capital of the World, is also a progressive city where environmental initiatives abound. Go Green »
The founders of 18 Hands Gallery are all ceramic artists who met in many contexts, but came together as a group through their work in educational and non-profit arts initiatives such as the ClayHouston Festival and Empty Bowls Project. We began to realize that though our area is full of people who love clay art, as well as dozens of artists who love creating it, there are surprisingly few venues in Houston for experiencing ceramic fine art.
18 Hands Gallery was created with the goal of bringing together the unique work of many fine clay artists in an accessible and inviting way. In addition to the work of its founding principals, our gallery represents the work of many other area artists - decorative, sculptural, figurative, fanciful, and functional. We offer monthly exhibitions (First Saturday Openings), feature shows by well-known or emerging guest artists, as well as ceramic artists' lectures and workshops.
Open Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Sunday noon - 5:00 p.m.
