Houston, known as the Energy Capital of the World, is also a progressive city where environmental initiatives abound. Go Green »
After nearly two decades in the original Galleria location, famed chef-owner Michael Cordua has added a new outpost for his award-winning Américas restaurant, in the River Oaks Shopping Center. In his latest venture, Cordua has once again partnered with Chicaco-based architect Jordan Mozer for a jaw-dropping, new-age design that’s in line with the restaurant’s “New World Cuisine.”
Drawing from the foods and cooking techniques of North, Central and South America, Cordua delivers a menu that merges the bold, rich flavors of South America with touches of the Caribbean and Mexico. The much-loved applewood-smoked tuna and signature black-bean soup make their way to the new menu, as do new items like beef shortrib and plaintain-crusted shrimp taquitos. There’s also a savory, new ceviche flight incorporating Ecudorian tilapia, sweet corn and habanero.
Stop in for a memorable happy hour during the week and relax on the outdoor patio.
