Houston’s new BBVA Compass Stadium is a state-of-the-art, open-air facility designed to host soccer games for the Houston Dynamo, as well as additional sporting and concert events. The 22,000-seat stadium, which opened in late spring 2012, is the first Major League Soccer stadium located in a city’s Downtown district.
Spectators enjoy unobstructed views from both the lower and upper seating bowls, which are supported by a single concourse. The concourse provides full access around the stadium with easy access to concession and toilet facilities. The fan experience is enhanced by modern sound and video elements throughout the stadium. Fully integrated broadcast facilities allow viewers and listeners to feel part of the atmosphere.
Aside from Major League Soccer and international soccer matches, the new Dynamo stadium also hosts Texas Southern University football, concerts, boxing matches and much more. The new stadium joins Houston’s centrally-located Stadium District, which already features Minute Maid Park and Toyota Center, as well as the George R. Brown Convention Center, Discovery Green and the House of Blues.
