The space that used to be home to the Tasting Room Midtown—across from the Fish—is now a vodka-loving tenant, Double Cross Lounge. Created by the guys behind downtown’s Hearsay Gastro Lounge and the Galleria’s 51 Fifteen, the spot opened in late 2010, paying homage to the clear, mix-ready liquor.
Double Cross has developed a reputation for its array of modern martinis and light bites. Outside, covered patio seating gives patrons a view of the buzzing Midtown scene, while inside, the curving bar’s takes center stage, with its light-and-ice-filled trough, which snakes along the inside edge. Those not tempted by the Chilean Baby Pear Martini and its sugar-clove rim will be happy to learn that the lounge also has beer, wine and other libations on offer, too.
Double Cross is open daily from 4 p.m. until midnight or later.
