Just past the entrance of West U’s Eighteenth Cocktail Bar, patrons find themselves transported to the roaring 20s, within a beautifully-redesigned prohibition-inspired space.
Named after the 18th Amendment establishing prohibition, Eighteenth’s interior is stunning and warmly-inviting—an eclectic assortment of antique mirrors adorn the space’s exposed brick walls, as does reclaimed wood planking and glittering sconces. True to speakeasy form, patrons enter through the side door, where a long, red carpet guides them into Eighteenth, where they find sparkling globe chandeliers glowing overhead, illuminating low-slung lounge tables and eye-catching Louis chairs, not to mention a well-heeled clientele. Flag down a resident bootlegger to order bites from the bar menu and a Bathtub Gin, before retiring to the canopy-covered seating on the expansive patio.
Eighteenth is open Monday through Saturday until 2AM.
