For years, Marcus Sloan and Shannon Hall have combined their eye for design at their hip, Upper Kirby-set boutique, Sloan/Hall. The luxury lifestyle shop offers a gallery-like environment, ideal for displaying clever MikWright cards, coffee table tomes, home accessories and stunning jewelry.

In winter 2012, the shop expanded, adding 2,000 square feet to its footprint by taking over an adjacent space. The new minimalist space is dedicated largely to women's fashion, with a well-edited selection of top designers.

Don’t expect run of the mill here. Sloan and Hall aren’t inside-the-box kinda guys. The duo has a talent for showcasing hard-to-find goods and pieces by rising-star designers. Eau d’Italie’s bath and body products have a place on the store’s shelves, as does Damien Bàsh’s Lucifer parfum. Nearby, white biscuit figurines by Nymphenburg Porcelain, limited-edition Valentino books and David Hodges croc-button bracelets help fill the space.
