Urban Harvest is bringing its local goods and vendors to Southwest Houston Friday afternoons 3-7pm on the campus of HCC Southwest. The weekly event unites some of the most-loved vendors from the Eastside, Highland Village and City Hall markets, as well as several new ‘street food’ vendors. Attendees can expect to find more food trucks and prepared food options, making it quick and easy for patrons to pick up dinner and ingredients in time for the weekend.
Urban Harvest is a nonprofit organization that uses fruit, vegetable and habitat gardens to improve quality of life in the greater Houston area. These gardens serve to educate, strengthen community spirit, create therapeutic environments and provide food and income. The organization teaches organic gardening techniques, helps neighborhoods build successful community gardens, create outdoor classrooms at schools that teach core curricula, nutrition and respect for the environment, provide fresh, locally grown food and encourage responsible land use.
