In the Shadow of the Moon, released this month, features never-before-seen footage of NASA, including footage shot by the astronauts themselves. Such incredible imagery and commentary will no doubt spur an increased interest in space. There is no better place to learn more about space than Houston, home of NASA's Johnson Space Center, Mission Control and Space Center Houston.
October Convention Business Brings $42.3 Million to Houston (September 4, 2007)
For the month of October, the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GHCVB) welcomes 19 conventions, trade shows, events and other meetings to the city. More than 43,450 attendees will spend an estimated $42.3 million in Houston during this month.

Houston to Host the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Boxing, August 20-26, 2007 (June 26, 2007)
The U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Boxing will travel south for the 2008 edition as Houston, Texas and the George R. Brown Convention Center will play host to the event. Eighty-eight of the nation’s top amateur boxers will vie for 11 coveted Olympic berths at the Olympic Trials, August 20-26, 2007.
July Convention Business Brings $18.6 Million to Houston (June 2, 2007)
For the month of July, the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GHCVB) welcomes 18 conventions, trade shows, events and other meetings to the city. More than 19,000 attendees will spend an estimated $18.6 million in Houston during this month.

April Convention Business Brings $46.5 Million to Houston (March 1, 2007)
For the month of April, the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GHCVB) welcomes 21 conventions, trade shows, events and other meetings to the city. More than 47,700 attendees will spend an estimated $46.5 million in Houston during this month.
March Convention Business Brings $90.3 Million To Houston (February 1, 2007)
For the month of March, the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GHCVB) welcomes 24 conventions, trade shows, events and other meetings to the city. More than 92,700 attendees will spend an estimated $90.3 million in Houston during this month.

For the month of February, the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GHCVB) welcomes 27 conventions, trade shows, events and other meetings to the city. More than 9,780 attendees will spend an estimated $9.5 million in Houston during this month.
Houston Targets Gay Travelers (January 29, 2007)
The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GHCVB) has launched a gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) campaign to lure gay travelers to Houston. By placing advertisements in GLBT publications and hosting GLBT-focused reporters, the GHCVB hopes to increase GLBT visitation to Houston, which will in turn increase visitor spending.
Houston Goes Green! (January 29, 2007)
The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GHCVB) has launched an effort to become more environmentally friendly in 2007. As of Jan. 1, 2007, all GHCVB publications—the Houston Official Visitors Guide, Houston Meeting Planners Guide, Houston Fact Finder and Houston Membership Directory—will be printed on recycled paper. The GHCVB is one of the first convention and visitors bureaus in the country to print on environmentally-friendly paper.
