For the month of November, the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GHCVB) welcomes 16 conventions, trade shows, events and other meetings to the city. More than 71,875 attendees will spend an estimated $70 million in Houston during this month. The following are some of November's largest conventions:

Quilts, Inc. International - International Quilt Festival
Quilts, Inc.'s annual International Quilt Festival will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center Nov. 1-4. More than 1,000 quilts and other fabric-arts pieces will be featured, as well as classes, sales stands and social events. Hundreds of stands will offer goods for sale, but just as impressive is the score of themed exhibits, topped by the International Quilt Association contest, with tens of thousands of dollars in prize money offered to the top entries. Other exhibits include a selection of international quilts, quilts featuring indigo dyeing and innovations in fabric such as art cloth and hand-painted Bali prints. Classes are also offered for those who would like to improve their technique. More than 50,000 delegates are expected to attend, with an economic impact of approximately $48.7 million.

National Middle School Association - Annual Conference & Exhibition
The National Middle School Association (NMSA) will hold their 34th Annual Conference and Exhibition Nov. 8-10 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Historically, NMSA's Annual Conference and Exhibition has been a forum for networking, exchanging strategies and best practices, and challenging and inspiring delegates. This year's conference will rival past conferences, both in professional growth experiences and personal networking opportunities. From the opening workshops right up through the closing general sessions, attendees can share in more than 450 sessions, along with school visits, action labs and an exhibit hall with more than 450 booths. Engaging middle level educators in the planning helps ensure that the topics, strategies and ideas will help attendees meet the challenges and realize the opportunities of being a middle level educator. More than 8,000 delegates are expected to attend, with an economic impact of approximately $7.8 million.

Collinson Publishing - Rejuvenate Marketplace
The first annual Rejuvenate Marketplace will be held Nov. 12-15 at the Hilton Americas-Houston. This four-day conference brings attendees a one-of-a-kind opportunity to meet face-to-face with key prospects in the religious conference market. This new event will feature a mix of educational, networking and business opportunities. The educational sessions will cover subjects ranging from the basics of meeting planning to more advanced classes for seasoned professionals. The event kicks off with a service project open all attendees, and concludes with a panel discussion analyzing industry needs. The foundation for the conference will be a well organized marketplace offering pre-set, appointment opportunities that will allow buyers and sellers to connect. The tradeshow floor will allow buyers to mingle, see booths and meet sellers. The conference will be attended by 125 carefully pre-qualified meeting planners: They must be site-selection decision-makers for faith-based groups with meetings using a minimum of 500 room nights. More than 400 delegates are anticipated, which will bring approximately $390,000 to the local economy.
