Contact Information: Offshore Technology Conference – Annual Convention & Exposition – Houston’s Largest Annual Convention The 2008 Offshore Technology Conference will be held May 5-8 at Reliant Center. The conference is the world’s foremost event for the development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production and environmental protection. Technological innovations and forums on economic, social and political aspects of resource development and environmental protection are at the core of this worldwide conference. OTC includes attendees from around the globe, with more than 110 countries represented at recent conferences. The 2008 theme, Waves of Change, reflects the industry’s transition as project scopes and parameters are stretched to fulfill ever-increasing demand. Energy roundtables, technical sessions and topical luncheons will address changes in technology and the workforce, innovations in today’s exploration and production industry, and management, implementation, research, and technology-related fields in the offshore industry. More than 67,000 exploration and production professionals are expected to attend, with an economic impact of approximately $65.2 million. USA Gymnastics – VISA Championships USA Gymnastics’ VISA Championships will be held May 22-24 at Reliant Park. The 2008 Visa Championships, USA Gymnastics’ national championships, is men’s gymnastics’ qualifying event for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, June 19-22 in Philadelphia, and includes men’s artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, and trampoline and tumbling, featuring both junior and senior elite levels. For women’s trampoline, the Visa Championships is the third of four events where points toward Olympic selection are earned. Reliant Arena will host men’s artistic gymnastics and Reliant Center is the site for rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline and tumbling. More than 7,000 people are expected to attend, with an economic impact of $6.8 million. The events are open to the public and tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com. The schedule for men’s artistic gymnastics is: Thursday, May 22 •Junior rhythmic all-around prelims and individual event finals at 10 a.m. •Senior rhythmic all-around prelims and individual event finals at 2:30 p.m. •Senior men’s first day of competition at 7 p.m. Friday, May 23 •Junior trampoline and tumbling prelims at 10 a.m. •Senior trampoline and tumbling prelims at 2:30 p.m. •Reliant Arena will host the U.S. Classic, a women’s gymnastics event. Saturday, May 24 •Junior rhythmic all-around and trampoline and tumbling finals at 10 a.m. •Junior men’s all-around and individual event finals at 12:30 p.m. •Senior rhythmic all-around and trampoline and tumbling finals at 2:30 p.m. •Final day of the senior men’s competition at 6 p.m. International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICFG) – 2008 ICFG Annual General Convention The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel will hold their 2008 Convention May 26-29 at the Hilton-Americas and George R. Brown Convention Center. Each year, the Foursquare Church welcomes Foursquare church members, inspiring guest speakers, pastors, church leaders and missionaries to experience a time of fellowship, powerful prayer and worship, and dynamic workshops at their annual convention. This year’s convention theme is The Unchanging Christ and the Unshakable Kingdom and will feature vibrant worship led by gifted leaders such as Israel and New Breed, Roger Thrower, Eric Green and Carolyn Foster. Nationally recognized speakers such as Kirbyjon Caldwell and Robert Morris will be joined by Foursquare leaders including Jim Tolle, Tammy Dunahoo, Dale Evrist, Randy Remington, Peter Bonanno and Tony Krishack.
