Contact Information: "Houston is a first class city, and we look forward to celebrating 142 years of freedom here in 2013," said NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre. "I would like to thank the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau for their warm welcome. Houston is a good value for our members. Plus, it has two airports that provide easy access from anywhere in America, and a superior convention center with ample space to address NRA's growing needs. Following our very successful meeting here in 2005, Houston is the perfect city to host the tens of thousands who will flock once again to the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits." Houston in 2013 will be vastly different from Houston in 2005. In just three years, a new park has opened outside the George R. Brown Convention Center. A major entertainment center, Houston Pavilions, is opening within walking distance from the convention center and the 1,200-room Hilton Americas-Houston hotel. Air travel to Houston continues to expand, with major airlines adding new flights to Houston regularly. "We're so pleased with the success of the NRA's 2005 convention," said Greg Ortale, president and CEO of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau. "The city now has so much more to offer a group of this size, particularly in the downtown area. We're thrilled to host the NRA again, and we look forward to a long-standing partnership with them." The host hotels are the Hilton Americas-Houston and the Hyatt Regency Houston. # # # |
