February Convention Business Brings $32.1 Million to HoustonJanuary 5, 2009
Contact Information: American Association of Professional Landmen – North American Prospect Expo (NAPE) The 2009 NAPE Expo will take place Feb. 5-6 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. NAPE Expo was created in 1993 to provide a marketplace for the buying, selling and trading of oil and gas prospects and producing properties via exhibit booths. NAPE brings together state-of-the-art prospects and properties from U.S. and around the world, advanced technology and energy capital formation, creating a pure market place to establish strategic alliances for doing business and initiating purchases and trades. In addition to the two-day Expo featuring more than 400 exhibit booths and 5,000 attendees, this year’s NAPE will also hosts an E&P Forum sponsored by IHS Energy, which will bring together a panel of experts to discuss the role of exploration in shaping tomorrow’s oil and gas supplies. An estimated 5,000 delegates are expected, with an economic impact of approximately $4.87 million. Women of Faith, Inc. – Revolve Tour 2008/2009 Women of Faith, Inc.’s 2008/2009 Revolve Tour will take place Feb. 13-14 at the Toyota Center. The Revolve Tour is the teen division of Women of Faith, Inc., a faith-based organization that encourages women of all ages and stages in life to grow in faith and spiritual maturity through a relationship with Jesus Christ. The primary purpose of the Revolve Tour is to communicate to teen girls that God loves them just as they are, and to draw them into a life-changing relationship with Him. This year’s event will use music, drama, personal stories, videos and other creative avenues to address issues relevant to teenage girls today, including relationships with friends and family, body image and self esteem, relationships with guys, and faith in God. More than 15,000 attendees are expected, with an estimated economic impact of $14.6 million. The Turbomachinery Laboratory – International Pump Users Symposium & Short Courses The Turbomachinery Laboratory’s International Pump Users Symposium & Short Courses will be held Feb. 23-26 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The Symposium takes place biannually to promote professional development, technology transfer, peer networking and information exchange among industry professionals. The event is led by engineers with vast experience in the petrochemical, process, chemical, utility, contractor and consulting fields, along with manufacturers of rotating equipment and fluid-handling equipment from around the world. This year’s Symposium will feature lectures, tutorials, case studies, discussion groups and short courses, as well as exhibits of the latest services and full-sized equipment available. Technical sessions will provide an opportunity for attendees to select those lectures, tutorials, case studies and discussion groups that best meet their personal and professional needs and interests. More than 4,400 delegates are expected to attend, with an estimated economic impact of $4.2 million. ### |
