RDG + Bar Annie

 Opened July 2009
1800 Post Oak Blvd, 77056

After setting the standard for fine dining in Texas for the better part of three decades, the legendary Cafe Annie is on the precipice of a new location and a new name.  Several hundred feet to the south of Houston’s most famous restaurant sits the gleaming, still-under-construction edifice that will become home to RDG + Bar Annie – Robert Del Grande’s new multi-concept signature restaurant set to open in mid-July 2009.  While RDG + Bar Annie will occupy the second floor of the space, the first floor entry into the restaurant will be home to BLVD Lounge, a clubby gathering space for cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres.

RDG Bar Annie is a concept in tune with the way people dine out in 2009, not to mention how they will dine out in the years to come. Gone are the days of making reservations weeks in advance for a dinner reservation — replaced by securing lunch and dinner plans when it’s actually time for lunch and dinner.  Even the words “formal” and “casual” have gone by the wayside, as the 21st Century ushers in an era of impromptu decision-making.People still demand the best food, wine and service – even if they are calling from their cell phones en route to the restaurant.

RDG + Bar Annie is an umbrella concept that will encompass three separate dining venues designed to reflect the way people are accustomed to building their evenings out by combining several different components. BLVD Lounge will occupy the entire first floor area and is a perfect gathering space to socialize while casually enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The wildly popular Bar Annie concept will carry over to the new location occupying more than half of the second floor – including a spacious outdoor veranda seating area.  The final component is the RDG Grill Room – a more traditional sit-down dining area – also located on the second floor adjacent to Bar Annie that will feature prime steaks and seafood.

Del Grande’s faithful followers will find that the menus – which vary venue-by-venue within RDG + Bar Annie – include favorites from both Cafe Annie and Bar Annie while introducing new signature dishes from Chef Robert Del Grande.
