Welcome to Houston!
On behalf of the city's more than 2.3-million residents, we would like to welcome you to Houston. We're honored to host the petroleum geology world's best and brightest and are confident that you and your colleagues will have a great visit. By day, you'll find downtown's George R. Brown Convention Center central and convenient, as the facility is set within 15 minutes of Houston's most sought-after neighborhoods. Just a short distance from the GRB, attendees will find diverse districts filled with the city's top places to eat, drink and shop. We invite you to explore and experience all of the things that make our unique city one in a million. Below are some links to information which may be of assistance to you in your conference planning!
Where to Stay DowntownPlease book your rooms through Hilton Americas-Houston. This helps ATC meet hotel room block commitments and avoid penalties that could ultimately increase conference expenses. All reservations must be received by 6 November in order to guarantee conference rate.

It’s home to pro sports teams like the Astros, Rockets and Aeros, as well as year-round resident companies in all the major performing arts. And thanks to recent efforts to develop the area’s culinary and nightlife scene, downtown enjoys a following that extends beyond the 9 to 5 hours. Catch a show or enjoy a night out at the Houston Pavilions. The four-block, mixed-use development brings fresh energy to the area with a House of Blues, Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar, Lucky Strike Lanes and nearly a dozen restaurants. While you’re in the area, swing by the 12-acre Discovery Green for live music, a farmers market, fitness classes and (in the winter) ice-skating on Kinder Lake. Read more >>
