Tickets to the top eight attractions in Houston are offered in each CityPass. Houston is the first city in Texas and the Southwest to offer CityPass.
The CityPass concept is simple: A booklet—thinner than an iPod and sized to fit in a pocket—saves time once spent researching and tracking down must-see attractions and saves money with a price—much less than individually purchased tickets.
The booklet contains:
*Actual tickets to attractions
*Attraction information
*Transportation directions
*Best times to visit
*A map
*Enticing details about Houston from the pages of National Geographic Traveler, the most widely read magazine for inquisitive travelers.
*CityPass ticket holders also avoid most ticket queues.
iPhone users can download Citypass information to your phone.
Pricing
The Houston CityPass costs $39 for adults (a $70.96 value) and $29 for children ages 4-11 (a $44.70 value).
Houston CityPass Attractions
The following Houston CityPass attraction tickets are valid for nine days from first use:
*Space Center Houston, NASA’s official visitors center, is a multi-sensory experience for adults and children. It’s exciting to be behind the gates of NASA. Living in Space (an insider’s look at the space shuttle), Blast Off and the NASA Tram Tour with a glimpse of Mission Control are just a few of the ways to experience great moments in space exploration. Kids have their own space-themed play area.
*Downtown Aquarium, smack dab in the middle of downtown, was a redevelopment project that combined two historic landmarks for an indoor-outdoor attraction. It amplifies the story of the region’s aquatic and historical details. In addition to 200 species of marine life examples in 500,000 gallons of water, exhibits bring to life the look, sounds and creatures of the Louisiana swamp, a sunken 17th century Spanish galleon, and the Gulf of Mexico waters as seen by off-shore rig divers. It’s open until 10 p.m.; the restaurant has spectacular views of the aquarium and downtown Houston.
*Houston Museum of Natural Science beautifully organizes a wide variety of the planet’s animals and natural world. Captivating exhibits of paleontology (fossils), geology and drilling, chemistry, gems and minerals, rare and spectacular shells, Texas wildlife and African wildlife anchor the museum. The Cockrell Butterfly Center is a stunning, living exhibit that showcases hundreds of live butterflies in a naturalistic rainforest setting.
*The Houston Zoo’s Wildlife Carousel grabs everyone’s attention as they clamor to ride on the armadillo. The zoo is home to 4,500 exotic animals representing more than 800 species, including Spectacled Bears (the South American answer to pandas), Indochinese tigers, African lions, and a new $4 million small mammals exhibit. Kids pop out of prairie dog domes in play, or getting a close look at the solitary okapi, who live alone and come together only to mate in the zoo’s 40-exhibit Children’s Zoo.
*Option ticket: The Health Museum is the only interactive science center in the U.S. with a mission focused on health sciences and wellness. It serves as the only museum member of the world renowned Texas Medical Center! Visitors of all ages can learn about everything under their skin in the Amazing Body Pavilion, a walking tour of the human body. Live science shows, brain teasers, and fascinating new exhibits make this Museum District attraction fun for the whole family. New this year: You: The Exhibit, a 2,000 square foot gallery exhibit experience about the Physical, Unique and Future You, opening in June; and Houston’s first 4-D theater, McGovern Theater, slated to open this fall.

George Ranch Historical Park reveals a century of Texas history on a 480-acre living history site within a 23,000-acre working ranch. From 1830 to the 1930s, the determination, courage and hard work of four generations transformed a rustic stock farm into great—but humble—wealth. Visitors can see and touch buildings, tools and artifacts, while observing how ranch life was lived and how a ranch evolved.
*Option ticket: Located in the heart of Houston’s Museum District, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston showcases 5,000 years of world art, from the Stone Age to the present day. The Southwest’s premier public art collection showcases African, Asian, American, European, and Latin American art of various media—painting, sculpture, photography, prints, and decorative arts—in an outdoor sculpture garden and two museum buildings connected by a remarkable light tunnel. Special exhibitions and programs, Cafe Express, and the MFAH Shop offer fun for the whole family.
