Four-Day Summer Workshop
Michael Holter
Watercolor Impressionism: Waterscapes/Landscapes and How to Incorporate Figures
June 26, 27, 28 and 29
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Tuition: Non-Members $550, Members $500
Novice and advanced students are welcome. Michael will tailor the experience to individual needs.
This workshop will focus on the use of watercolor to paint exciting impressionistic paintings. You paint from photographs and will explore the use of light and shadow to create interesting compositions and achieve dynamic results.
We will examine the fundamentals of watercolor painting to assure all students are familiar with the techniques. Daily discussions and application of the principles and elements of design will be woven into your painting experience.
Each day you will engage in exercises that will solidify the content you are working on and spend time viewing other artists' work. We will discuss the methods and impact these artists achieve using their techniques.
We will start with landscapes and progress to more complicated subjects and will include some figurative work.
Michael will demonstrate his approach to creating his paintings and will show you several high-speed video demonstrations.
And you will have ample time to successfully complete your own paintings.
