Armand Bayou Nature Center This nature center is a 2,500-acre wildlife preserve. This area has never been developed to serve humans, but is protected and maintained to provide a habitat for 370 species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. The center educates visitors about how deer, armadillos, bobcats, snakes, alligators, frogs, birds and others rely on the wetland, forest and prairie environments for survival.
