At Mockingbird, the feel of the menu is "country-French-meets-American-market." Chef John Sheely updates the menu seasonally to take advantage of the ingredients available at-market, as well as to give him the freedom to exercise his creativity.

Among the Starters offered are a Crisp Calamari with two dipping sauces; Beef Carpaccio with Parmesan vinaigrette and white truffle oil; Charcuterie with pate masion, Serrano ham and saucisson de Lyon; Texas "1015" Onion Soup with gruyere crouton; Hand-cut White Truffle and Parmesan Frites; and Bibb Lettuces & Texas Goat Cheese with toasted pine nuts and roasted red peppers.

Mockingbird’s interiors can best be described as "funky gothic." The upscale-yet-casual atmosphere has "gothic" leanings because of the unique light fixtures, which were originally hung in one of Houston’s first upscale eateries, Sonny Look’s.

Table 41 is the Mick Jagger table. It's in the middle of the room and is a fave for local celebs.
