About GHCVB
The mission of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau is to improve the economy of Greater Houston by attracting conventions, tourists, film projects and international government officials to the area through sales and marketing efforts. The Bureau exists through a public and private sector partnership that fosters economic development by helping Houston realize the full economic potential of the convention and visitors industry.

Established in 1963, the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau is a non-profit organization funded by both private sector memberships and a portion of the hotel bed tax.

With approximately 83 employees, the bureau is divided into ten different areas: administration, communications, convention sales, convention services, the Houston Film Commission, the Houston International Protocol Alliance, the Houston Image Group, finance, membership and tourism.

A board of local business leaders governs the staff. The GHCVB has nearly 1,000 members, representing all facets of the hospitality and business community & nbsp.
