The clean-lined, bright restaurant pulls in wine enthusiasts and gastronomic travelers with comfort foods and its hefty wine list showcasing bottles from South America, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Not forgetting northern hemisphere specialties, So Vino features 13 sparkling wines, billed as "bubbles," including seven Champagnes. Cheese plates, fine cold cuts, salads, and entrees such as beef medallions, pan-seared duck breast and angel hair pasta are available to complement the liquid star attractions.

For those who prefer hops to grapes, Carlsberg, Shiner Bock, Bass Ale and Guinness Stout are served. Nondrinkers enjoy San Pellegrino, Fiji water and Snapple.

Reservations are accepted for groups of six or more.

Longtime Houston restaurateur Manfred Jachmich, who created Ruggles, Post Oak Grill and Remington Grill, joined lawyer and ex-employee Elizabeth Abraham to open So Vino.
