Chef Junnajet "Jett" Hurapan—most recently of Gigi's Asian Bistro—has struck out on his own with a Euro-Asian concept set in Sugar Land Town Square. Blu, which opened in late 2011, offers globally-inspired cuisine, served in a warmly-inviting, contemporary space.
Inside, textured walls and pin-tucked banquettes are bathed in hues of blue and gold, shimmering chandeliers hang over head and plush seats frame the restaurant's tables. A smattering of TVs, including two large projection varieties, dot the interior—held over from the spot's previous tenant, Loggia. On Blu's menu, diners can find everything from Tom-Yum soup and lamb samosas to tacos and tequila ceviche. On weekends, the lively spot transforms into a party destination, as the tables and chairs are removed to make room for revelers and a DJ spinning Top 40 mixes.
Blu is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday through Sunday, and late night, Wednesday through Saturday.
