Cafe and bakery Tout Suite in East Downtown is a local favorite that offers excellent coffee and tea choices, a variety of beautiful pastries like Strawberries & Creme Croissants, cakes, red velvet cupcakes, macarons and more to help you start your day. It’s industrial-style and spacious dining area also makes it a great spot for working or studying. Brass Tacks is another great place to study, work or simply get your day started. Grab a pastry and an iced coffee, nitro cold brew or a London fog tea to take on the day. If you love a good breakfast option, order their “BELT” croissant with bacon, sunny-side up egg, lettuce and tomato or a chorizo, egg and cheese breakfast taco with a warm flour tortilla.

With so many restaurants, you can really eat around the world in EaDo. Huynh Restaurant is a must-try. Their home-style Vietnamese cuisine like fresh spring rolls, rice plates, noodle bowls, stir-frys, hot soups, and other fresh traditional Vietnamese dishes will make you want to come back for more each time. Get a taste of an Italian-inspired menu at Tiny Champions where pizzas and pastas like Mortadella Tortellini take center stage. Stop by Cafe Louie for a little bit of everything. Whether you are looking for weekday breakfast, dinner or weekend brunch, Cafe Louie has you covered with freshly baked pastries and breads along with European bistro style dishes.

For date night, head to East End’s Acadian Coast which prides itself on the blend of Acadian Creole with the rich cooking traditions of the American South. Start the night by ordering a Fleur des Lis gin cocktail and your choice of grilled or fresh oysters. We recommend the delicious Shrimp & Cheesy Grits or the Blackened Catfish with dirty rice for an entree. Be sure to taste one of their amazing desserts like the Berry Beignet or the Red Velvet Cake. If you love jazz music, you’ll love listening to live music while you dine, available Thursday through Sunday nights. Another great option is Indianola where you can find delicious Texas Gulf Coast inspired cuisine like Sweet Tea Pork Chop and Golden Grouper + Crawfish dishes with Buttermilk Pie for dessert.

Ready for a great night out? Known to be an adult playground for its ferris wheel, food trucks, live music (6 pm - 9 pm) and great drinks and food, Truck Yard is a neighborhood favorite. Continue the night with great beer, ciders, seltzers, cocktails and food trucks at the laid-back East End Backyard brought to you by owner and Houston Dynamo legend Brian Ching.
