Last night, My Table magazine gathered many of H-Town’s most-loved foodies to celebrate the 2014 Houston Culinary Awards. Held at the Houstonian, the annual event toasted the city’s top restaurants, chefs, bartenders, bakeries, bars and farmer’s market vendors—all voted on by My Table readers.
Though many area businesses were recognized, a few took special honors. Tracy Vaught, who owns Backstreet Cafe, Hugo’s and the recently-opened Caracol, walked away with Restaurateur of the Year, while Ronnie Killen (Killen’s Steakhouse and Killen’s Barbecue) was named Chef of the Year. Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette earned the Best New Restaurant title, along with Best Interior Design and Chef of the Year for Liberty’s Chef Travis Lenig.
