The two-day music festival Free Press Summer Fest is back for its third year and promises to be better than ever. The music festival features more than 160 national and local acts on eight stages with an ever growing attendance, reaching a sold out crowd of 100,000 last year.

The third annual event will feature bands such as Jack White, Wu-Tang Clan, Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros, Dwight Yoakam, Deftones, Vampire Weekend and many, many more.

Though the festival began three years ago with a focus on local musical performers, visual arts, and artists, each year continues to draw more national recognition and with it, heavy hitting headliners. Last year's performers included Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, the Postal Service, Gogol Bordello and Iggy & the Stooges.

While national touring acts continue to be a draw, the festival still lends their stages to local talent like Gracie Chavez, Shakey Graves, Wild Moccasins, the Tontons and Venomous Maximus.

The festival is slated for May 31 and June 1 at Buffalo Bayou's Eleanor Tinsley Park. Passes start at $140.50 for general admission and $255.50 VIP tickets that allow access to air conditioned tents, private viewing areas and rapid entry. Note that the cost of the passes will go up as the festival date gets closer.
