On Friday, March 27, The Health Museum will unveil its newest exhibit, the DeBakey Cell Lab, which is the museum’s first permanent exhibit in five years.

Named after medical pioneer Dr. Michael E. DeBakey, the $1.2 million exhibit aims to inspire and educate guests in the fields of biology and medicine, as well as inspire medical leaders and scientists of the future.

The lab features seven biology-based science experiments that allow visitors a chance to don a lab coat, gloves and goggles and perform experiments using various lab equipment. Experiments can take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the age and comprehension of the guest.

The lab is designed for visitors ages 7 to adult.
