Hotels are expected to bring the most style and panache to Houston’s New Year’s Eve events. From a 50,000-balloon cascade at midnight to glamorous dance parties and multi-course fine dining, hotels around town will ring in 2017 in style. Head to the Hyatt Regency Downtown for dinner at the revolving Spindletop restaurant, 4 floors of live music and dancing, and a 50,000-balloon cascade finale. Don your best 80s attire for a totally rad celebration at Hotel Derek’s 80s Prom New Year’s Eve Party in the Galleria. The party will include a buffet dinner, spiked punch fountain, chocolate fountain/candy station and a champagne toast at midnight. Prohibition and The Astorian are throwing things back to the Roaring ‘20s with their highly anticipated Jazz Age New Year’s Eve Bash featuring a burlesque show by The Moonlight Dolls.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to choosing where to celebrate New Year’s at Houston’s hottest bars and clubs. You can’t go wrong with MKT Bar’s New Year’s Eve Global Dance Party with DJ SUN. The festive celebration will feature a culinary and musical adventure with foods and music from around the world. CityCentre is planning an epic free fireworks display with live music by party band, Bristol Fashion, and tons of confetti at midnight. You won’t want to miss the H-Town Countdown at Silver Street Studio. The 4th annual party features an all-you-can-drink premium bar with live music and DJ sets. Lumen and Crimson Lounge's Top of the World 2017 NYE Celebration is the official Rocket/Knicks basketball after party. Head to the River Oaks lounge for aerialist and fire performers, a laser light show, balloon drop, and confetti machine, gourmet complimentary hors d'oeuvres, and luxurious red carpet entrance.
Head to the Secret Group’s free NYE Bash for the EaDo’s biggest dance party. The night will conclude with a $1000 cash balloon drop and complimentary champagne toast. The Bronze Peacock at House of Blues Houston will host FORGET 2016: New Year’s Eve Party with musical guests Space Villains, DJ Baby Roo, Genesis Blu, Sobe Lash, and Giant Kitty. Get your Tex-Mex on at ¡Pachanga! A Border Town Bash at Goode Co. Armadillo Palace. The restaurant and dance hall will be decked out for a Tex-Mex feast, margaritas, and cocktails, and live Latin music.
Houston has a surprising amount of family-friendly New Year’s events being offered around town. The Children’s Museum of Houston offers its annual Rockin’ New Year’s Noon Bash for a shimmering ball drop and parade just like they do in Times Square. The museum will ring in 2017 with live music and activities for kids throughout the rest of the day. Take the whole family out to the Houston Symphony’s official NYE concert at The Centrum in Spring for an evening of Mozart, Debussy, Strauss and much more. Sugar Land Town Square offers a spectacular free fireworks display and state-of-the-art 3-D light show complete with live music and DJ.
