Looking for creative ways to keep the kids occupied this summer? The Alley Theatre offers children in grades K-8 a chance to explore their dramatic side with its popular theatre and playwriting summer camp, Play Makers.
The two-week camp dates include specific classes on movement, acting, playmaking, and crafts all taught by nationally recognized Alley Theatre artists. Playwriting skills and science concepts are developed through the creation of plays that are both creative and educational such as the life cycle of the butterfly and climate change. The program, modeled after the regionally acclaimed STEM in-school program, is sure to enchant your resident superhero, princess, or drama fanatic. The camp sessions run from June 1-July 24 for one or two week increments. All classes take place at Carnegie Vanguard High School. Pricing varies.
Once the Alley Play Makers camp has inspired your family, take them to see the real thing on stage this summer. The Tony-award-winning theatre company will feature two exciting programs from June-August. George Gershwin Alone celebrates the life and music of one of America's most extraordinary artists. The Foreigner is one of the most popular comedies Alley Theatre has produced in recent years. The story revolves around a foreigner who speaks no English and his hilarious interactions with his socially awkward neighbor. Don't miss all the Alley has to offer in its 15-16 Season!
