This tour with two beloved Houston chefs will showcase the synergy and similarity of Italian and France cuisine. The tour will be held Sunday March 6 from 3 pm to 7 pm.
Maurizio Ferrarese, executive chef of Quattro at Four Seasons Hotel Houston arrived in Space City in 2010 from past assignments with Four Seasons in London and San Diego. For the past five years, he has served at the helm of Houston's premiere Italian eatery. Born and raised in the Piedmont region of Italy, Ferrarese discovered the significance of seasonal peaks at a young age and chose to pursue a culinary career with his parents’ encouragement. At Quattro, he uses main ingredients only at their seasonal peaks and prepares them with as little fuss as possible.
Food has been the central ingredient in Chef David Denis' life from the beginning, fueling his passion for creating and cooking. At the ripe old age of 17, he finished his first French culinary school, and continued with more culinary education while juggling nights and weekend work at a local four-star inn.
From a glitzy hotel in Cannes to the Swiss Alps, David led the kitchen in some of Europe's most esteemed restaurants. For several years now, his restaurant Le Mistral, has offered some of the finest French cuisine Houston has to offer. He’s been a perpetually busy guy ever since, cooking and consulting for upscale Houston restaurants, co-owning Foody’s Gourmet French Bakery and the eclectic Artisans Cuisine & Savoir-Faire, as well as collaborating on recipes and contributions for two books.
