Northeast of Downtown sits a section of historic neighborhoods that date back to the late 1800s. Residents once flocked to the Heights to escape the big city, but today it's the hipsters and young couples that are drawn to this area's rich and character-filled architecture, mom and pop-type shops and funky restaurants.
These three-hour walking food tours will discuss the evolution of the area's history architecture and culture, while stopping at a number of establishments along an evolving commercial corridor enjoy a variety of food and drink.
Just steps from the White Oak Bayou along the southern edge of the Heights is White Oak Drive, which offers an eclectic mix of ice houses, pubs and eateries in a charming, walkable area. This is one of the oldest parts of the Heights surrounded by century-old bungalows and unique architectural accents.
