    Canstruction® is a nationwide program that aims toraise awareness about hunger. In Houston,Canstruction is self-organized and is an affiliate of the Society for Design Administration (SDA Houston) and works in partnership with the American Instituteof Architects (AIA Houston), as a creativedesign-build competition and art display thatbenefits the Houston Food Bank through donationsof canned goods. Local teams from architecture and design firms, compete to use their skills to createsculptures utilizing canned food and their labels as building blocks to depict their unique designs and receive recognition. While there are 10 awards to attainlocally, the awards for Structural Ingenuity, Best Useof Labels, Best Meal and Most Cans will advance and compete at the National Level. Structures are on display to the public from 11/9-11/16
