Join us for an Artist Talk with Tony Paraná, the 2017 Bayou City Art Festival Downtown featured artist! Everyone is invited to meet Tony and get an exclusive preview of his artwork before it’s spotlighted at one of the top outdoor fine art festivals in the U.S.

Art enthusiast are encouraged to purchase their tickets to Bayou City Art Festival Downton on October 14 – 15, get excited about fine art and giving back to the local community. Tony Paraná, is a local self-taught mixed media artist that is inspired by his home state Bahia, Brazil. His work incorporates everyday scenes, memories and experiences while growing up in the northern eastern region of Brazil, which is known for its rich colors, flavorful foods and beautiful landscapes.

 

Paraná works primarily in oil paintings, mixed media, sculptures and mosaics. In 2007, when Paraná arrived to Houston, he immediately became involved in the local arts community.With over 300 artists from around the country and 19 different disciplines, Bayou City Art Festival Downtown offers attendees the opportunity to purchase world class art and raise funds for local non-profits. The festival is a fun and unique fine art event for everyone to enjoy live entertainment, music, crafts in the Children's Creative Zone, food trucks and more. Under the iconic Houston skyline, the sophisticated outdoor gallery will transform the streets of Downtown into artistic avenues bursting with colors and culture.
