Body as a Work of Art: More Than Skin Deep is a collection of unique public visual installations and works of art that explore the dichotomy of inner and outer beauty through a series of thought-provoking and interactive collections that challenge visitors to consider and evaluate their own interpretations of human beauty. The centerpiece of this exhibition is the BODYSUITS collection by Los Angeles-based artist Sarah Sitkin. By directly molding actual bodies, Sitkin’s BODYSUITS has turned human bodies into wearable garments. The wearer is invited to empathize, confront, and reevaluate the judgement we hold to the bodies of others as well as our own by literally walking in “someone else’s skin.”
