The Warlpiri people have called Australia’s Central Desert home for thousands of years. Since the late 1980s, Warlpiri artists have adopted modern materials to create powerful paintings that reflect their ruggedly-beautiful landscapes and ancestral Dreamings.“These artists are known for combining vibrant colors and detailed patterns, often layering dots and icons to represent the geological features, flora and fauna, of their homelands, as well as the mythological figures of the Dreamtime, the never-ending creation era,” according to Nana Booker, gallery owner, and Australia’s Honorary Consul Emeritus. The opening reception will be held Saturday, April 21st, 3-6 pm. After the reception, the exhibition will be on view through Saturday, July 7th. For more information, please email email@example.com, or call us at 713.880.1541.
