Holocaust Museum Houston (HMH), in partnership with educational, cultural, civic, religious, and corporate communities of greater Houston, is proud to host the return of Coexistence, a unique and thought provoking free outdoor art exhibition in Hermann Park along Fannin Street, on view May 2 to May 30, 2019. Coexistence, which precedes the much-anticipated June reopening of Holocaust Museum Houston’s new Lester and Sue Smith Campus, will also feature spoken word performances and virtual art workshops for students.First presented by HMH in 2006, the new and expanded Coexistence will feature 45 panels of large scale works, measuring 9 feet high and 15 feet wide, created by renowned artists from the United States, Europe, Asia, the UK, Africa, and the Middle East. The featured artists include Yoko Ono, Sharon and Raphie Etgar, Nammala Galada, Jose Rementeria, Lex Drawinski, Shigeo Fukuda, and Letita Bouwer among many others.The exhibited works will be accompanied by panels featuring quotes from philosophers and leading thinkers in four languages (English, French, German and Spanish) that represent a wide range of concepts and issues that affect human relations as we work to coexist in a global society.Coexistence exhibition initiated and created by The Museum on the Seam, Jerusalem, curated by Raphie Etgar, is free and open to the public during Park hours.
