MYSTIC LYON is thrilled to present "Embrace at the Intersection" a new mural by artist Jimmy Castillo. This image of Fifth Ward residents is a photographic halftone of separated tiny dots that has been hand-painted creating a look that is both painterly and photographic. This new mural is on view at Mystic Lyon art space at 5017 Lyons Avenue, Houston, Texas 77020 in Houston’s historic Fifth Ward. It will remain on view until November 1, 2021.
From artist Jimmy Castillo: “The embrace is at intersection of Lyons Avenue and Mystic Street., a physical place, but is also at the intersection of ideas and emotions. It “embraces” a moment that is at the intersection of identity and community; of presence and memory; and of life and loss.”
