The first annual Game & Uplyft, coordinated by Uplyft Studios is scheduled to take place at Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center, September 15th-16th 2018. Game & Uplyft is a community building event that uses eSports as the focal point and bridges gaps between gamers, music, fashion, and charity. This event will not only provide an unforgettable experience to all involved, but continue its impact long after by expanding opportunities for local students as future game developers. Uplyft Studios will use a portion of the event’s proceeds towards building game development centers to be known as “A Dollar and a Game” initiative in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods within the Houston Metropolitan Area. By doing so, we hope to give patrons the tools needed to build their own games. The skills learned at the facilities can be transitioned to other fields including software engineering and design for a variety of career paths.
