  • overview

Students at Harris County Juvenile Probation Department, in collaboration with Young Audiences of Houston and teaching artist Liz Conces-Spencer, have created a mural that is now on display on the HCJPD CUPS 1 campus. Students spent the fall semester working in a variety of media to create mini-murals with Liz Conces-Spencer, culminating in an inspired piece designed and installed by the students. The mural is painted on a decommissioned greenhouse behind the CUPS 1 campus and features a camouflage motif with text additions. This piece is now visible on the CUPS I campus as part of the campus and community beautification project, as well as an arts-integrated learning project for the students. Because CUPS 1 is an active probationary service site for HCJPD, visitors are not permitted to enter the facilities. The mural can be viewed from Lantern Point Dr.
