615 Louisiana St. Houston, TX 77002
Details
Overview

Presented by Houston Symphony

Filled with virtuoso fireworks and tender beauty, it’s little wonder Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto ranks among the best loved in the repertoire. International superstar James Ehnes joins the Houston Symphony in Jones Hall, and also performs Vaughan Williams’s transcendent The Lark Ascending. The Symphony’s strings perform Philip Herbert’s poignant Elegy, dedicated as a reflection on racial injustices, past and present.

Before the concert: Musical Ambassador Carlos Andrés Botero hosts Prelude discussion live on Zoom. Ticket holders get a link to learn more about the musicians and the night’s repertoire.

Saturday’s performance will be livestreamed and tickets are on sale now. Due to social distancing requirements, in person seating for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is very limited and current 2020–21 Season subscribers receive priority. If you are not a subscriber and are interested in attending in person, please fill out this form to join our standby seating list. Robust safety measures will be in place for all performances.
