The musicians of the Houston Symphony return to the Jones Hall stage for livestream performances throughout July and August. Musicians from every section of the orchestra will be spotlighted in small ensemble settings as we share music live from our Hall to your home. Tickets to each livestream performance are only $10 and help support the Symphony.
Those who purchase tickets will receive a private link to enjoy the live performance in the comfort of their own home. The Symphony encourages fans to consider purchasing multiple tickets to share as gifts for concert-goers to enjoy with family and friends.
ABOUT THIS CONCERT:
Take a sonic adventure through the centuries with this livestream concert spotlighting the Symphony’s brass and percussion sections. Hear stately music of Gervaise and Handel, feel the jaunty rhythms of “King of Ragtime” Scott Joplin, and make a stop at the unexpected with John Cage’s hypnotic “Third Construction” for percussion, which uses everything from tin cans and cowbells to cricket callers and a conch shell. For the grand finale, brass and percussion come together for Abreu’s showstopping Tico Tico.
