“Awakening” is a body of work focusing on the wild, overgrown, and enchanted natural world. This series alludes to the idea of the domesticated gone feral. Sharing scenes of new growth and oneness between the creature and land in nature. The imagery becomes a meditation on what creation may be like if left alone by the hand of man to flourish. Through large and small-scale sculptures and mixed media paintings, animals have a strong presence as they roam and become one with moody, inhibited spaces. These haunting, yet whimsical works, are looking to evoke the imagination and “awaken” the human soul. The exhibit will be on display from September 8 through September 30, 2018.
