Join ROCO for its annual Día de los Muertos celebration (Mexican Day of the Dead) on October 30. A five-way collaboration between ROCO, Lawndale, Inprint, Musiqa, and the Houston Hispanic Forum, this year’s performance also features the premiere of five original, three-minute musical “ofrendas” (offerings) by Houston composer Marcus Maroney, which are woven amongst four original prose and poetry texts by Inprint authors.

Additionally, Houston-based baritone, Timothy Jones, joins a trio of ROCO musicians performing on oboe, viola, and cello. The performance takes place against a backdrop of “retablos” (paintings and illustrations representing the Day of the Dead), and is followed by refreshments and a beginner Spanish lesson through Español y arte.
