ROCO's Season 18 Albert and Margaret Alkek Foundation In Concert series, featuring the full 40-piece chamber orchestra, wraps up with "Future" on April 29 at The Church of St. John the Divine!In a program inspired by daring creativity and artistic innovation, conductor Michelle Merrill makes her ROCO debut, leading the orchestra in a ROCO world premiere commission by Anthony DiLorenzo based on the thought-provoking book The Telling Image by Lois Stark, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Miller Outdoor Theatre. Also receiving its world premiere will be a ROCO-commissioned orchestral work by Juno award-winner Vivian Fung. Louise Farrenc's fiery Symphony No. 1 also features, and Ludwig van Beethoven's Overture to "The Creatures of Prometheus" appropriately rounds out the program as ROCO is joined by Houston's musical future: the Houston Youth Symphony!*ROCOrooters is also back in-person, offering a night out for you and music education and childcare for the kids! Providing up to 6 hours of childcare under the supervision of certified and bonded childcare professionals, our program is available during all of ROCO’s In Concert performances at The Church of St. John the Divine. Cost is $35 per child, and ages 2 months to 10 years are welcome.*
