In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo II moon landing on July 20, 1969, the MFAH presents Shooting the Moon, an installation of approximately 40 moon-related photographs drawn from the Museum’s collection.

Works on view range from NASA images of the mission itself to fine art classics including Ansel Adams’s Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico and more fanciful pictures, such as a 19th-century portrait of a man in a sun-and-moon costume. This 45-minute tour explores the exhibition and encourages visitors to discuss the art together.
